Gemological Institute
Autonomous Non-Profit Organization of Additional Professional Education
The educational process at the Gemological Institute is delivered in the following formats:
  • In-person (full-time)
  • Blended (part-time)
  • Distance learning (including individualized study plans)
The following types of academic activities are offered:

  • Practical workshops
  • Laboratory sessions

All classroom-based sessions follow a standard academic hour of 45 minutes.
The duration of training is determined by the curriculum of each professional education program.
Professional retraining diplomas and advanced qualification certificates are issued under Educational License No. 035225. Information on issued educational documents is recorded in the Federal Information System "Federal Register of Education and Qualification Documents".

For over 25 years, the Gemological Institute has trained specialists from:

  • Assay Chamber
  • ALROSA (world’s leading diamond producer)
  • Customs authorities
  • Ministry of Internal Affairs (MVD)
  • Federal Security Service (FSB)
  • And other government agencies
The Institute participates as an expert in GOKHRAN’s Technical Committee, conducts scientific research, and is a member of the Russian Jewellers’ Guild.

From 1996 to 2014, the Institute was the only GIA (Gemological Institute of America) affiliate in Russia.
Today, our 10,000+ alumni worldwide form a close-knit global gemological community.
